Heidi Rae Cooley

Heidi Rae Cooley is an associate professor of Arts, Technology and Emerging Communication at UT Dallas. Her research explores how emerging technologies (e.g., mobile screens, GPS, sensors, AI, etc.) shape everyday practices of interpretation in the 21st century. Her first book, Finding Augusta: Habits of Mobility and Governance in the Digital Era, along with its geolocative application, received the Society for Cinema and Media Studies Anne Friedberg Innovative Scholarship Award. Her writings appear in peer reviewed journals and edited collections. She is a founding member of the editorial team for Interactive Film and Media.
