Monica Evans
Monica Evans, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Game Design, Development, and Studies in the Bass School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology. Her work sits at the intersection of game design, development, and production; critical game studies; narrative systems and interactive fiction; educational and informal learning games; and science fiction studies. Her recent publications examine pervasive dread in horror-adjacent games; subverting player identity with time-loop mechanics; cozy cyberpunk systems; developing museum games on minerology; and doppelganger mechanics in meta-modern games. Dr. Evans directs the Narrative Systems Research Lab at UT Dallas.
