Teresa Hubbard and Alexander Birchler have been working collaboratively in film, photography and sculpture since 1990. They have exhibited in the 48th and 57th Venice Biennial; Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin; Kunsthaus Zurich; Kunstmuseum Basel; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth; Mori Museum Tokyo; Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich; Tate Museum Liverpool and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, among others.

Hubbard and Birchler are Professors at the University of Texas at Austin, and lead the Photography & Media Program in the Department of Art and Art History. In 2017, they were awarded an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts by the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University in Halifax, Canada, for their outstanding achievements to art and culture.
